Rapture Meter Predicting The Apocalypse?

The rapture index is an attempt to predict when rapture, the event that the bible says will occur near the end of the world where believers will be taken up into heaven will take place.

It monitors world events in 45 categories and gives each a score in order to come up with an over all score for how much prophetic activity is occurring.

It acts as a measure of how stable the planet is at any one time and is interesting for Christians and non Christians alike.

Categories are diverse include Satanism, volcanoes, earthquakes and extreme weather as well as famine and drought, crime rates the global economy including interest rates and inflation, nuclear activity, drug abuse, civil rights, liberalism and democracy and unemployment.

Overall scores are interpreted thus:

Rapture Index of 100 and Below:

Slow prophetic activity

Rapture Index of 100 to 130:

Moderate prophetic activity

Rapture Index of 130 to 160:

Heavy prophetic activity

Currently we are at 168 we are rapidly heading for the end times with the global economic crisis, wheat production at a 25 year low, Europe recently hit by worst storm in 17 years and large parts of the Midwest flooded.

Norway hit by its largest ever earthquake and three currently active volcanoes. High levels of unemployment and more than 1 in 100 Americans in jail or prison also contribute to this total.

This score has in gradually risen since 2005, though the highest point was on September 24th 2001 at 182, the lowest being the 12 December 1993 at just 57.
