* Mutual Love - Do you and your partner have similar love for each other? True love comes in time and differs from romantic love. While romantic love is about lust, real love comes from a true understanding of the other person and a genuine feeling of having the best for them.

* Values - Those with similar values as our own make the best partners for the long haul. Values don't often change, so if there are substantial differences these will become more apparent as time goes on.

* Morals - As with values, morals do not change over time. These are part of our makeup and have been instilled in us over our lifetime. Those with similar morals are the best choice for a partner.

* Money - More couples argue about money than any other issue in marriage. To ensure you have similar thoughts on money discuss it in depth before you get married.

* Goals - Think about what you want to accomplish in the next year, 5 years and 10 years. Match this up with your partner to see where you stand. Your goals should be able to incorporate the goals of the other person.
