Things To Remember To Prevent Or Treat Adrenal Fatigue

Although the term adrenal fatigue was only introduced in 1998 by Dr. James L. Wilson, it has been experienced by a lot of people. This particular illness indicates that the patient has a low adrenal function, which is commonly associated with chronic stress as well as other causes.

First of all, one must remember that the purpose of the adrenal glands is to produce hormones in order to regulate the body’s response to stress. The adrenal gland is basically responsible for producing hormones, such as cortisol, testosterone, and estrogen to name a few. These hormones can directly affect the way we feel and it can also affect our psychological as well as our physiological situations.

When we experience chronic stress, such as poor nutrition, lack of sleep, and over exertion, our adrenal glands tend to produce excessive quantities of hormones as a response to the stress. And, when this happens, our adrenal glands will eventually wear out from exhaustion, which will in turn produce low quantities of hormones in our body.

One symptom that can indicate that we are suffering from adrenal fatigue is feeling constantly tired or exhausted for no particular reason. You will eventually feel more tired or exhausted than what you normally feel on a day to day basis. This can often result in craving for sugary snacks or caffeine in order for your body to get the energy levels up. You will also feel stressed to the point that you will not be able to function normally in society. You will often feel tired, sleepy and also unable to concentrate, which will severely affect your performance at work or at school.

Although it is not really practical to completely change your lifestyle overnight, there are ways on how you can deal with adrenal fatigue by changing small negative habits with positive ones. Here are some tips that will help you prevent or treat adrenal fatigue.

For starters, you need to remember that skipping breakfast is very common among a lot of people today. It may be because they are running late for work or school that they tend to neglect breakfast or that they have no appetite for it.

This can only make things worse for your adrenal glands as well as for the rest of your body. You should never skip breakfast as this particular meal jumpstarts our body’s metabolism and it also provides energy for our body to use for the entire day. You have to keep in mind that the body’s metabolism is responsible for converting sugars and fat to energy, which we need in order to function normally in society. This is basically why breakfast is known as the most important meal of the day.

One should also remember that you should eat the right kinds of food. You have to avoid eating junk food, such as those that you can find in processed food as well as on fast food restaurants. These types of food are considered to be unhealthy and lack the nutrients that our body needs in order to be healthy.

Preventing and treating adrenal fatigue is not that complicated. By just making small changes in your lifestyle, such as avoiding junk food and eating the right kinds of food as well as never skipping meals, especially breakfast, you will be able to help treat or better yet to prevent adrenal fatigue.
